Determines methods and solutions for complex engineering problems and selects the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the objectives. Applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline. This level of Engineer is a fully qualified professional, proficient in the utilization of current engineering theories and practices. May serve as a technical consultant in area of specialty for management or the client. Many assignments involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications. Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locations, is expected. Responsibilities: May function as discipline Project Engineer on medium to large projects, assuming responsibility for the work of the group.
May plan, direct, and supervise the work of a major engineering unit or project requiring a large-scale expenditure of manpower and financial investment.
Leads other Engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and growth in the Quality Improvement Process.
Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
Ensures compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract.
Prepares material/equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; reviews supplier data; witnesses shop tests, assists with assessing supplier manufacturing capabilities.
Develops operation and maintenance plans; develops standard operating procedures; prepares O & M manuals and may conduct on-site training of personnel.
Conducts surveys, studies, and site investigations.
Performs reliability, availability, maintenance (RAM) and safety analyses.
Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
Helps determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. May assist with other administrative and technical duties.
Recommends and prepares technical papers.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Undertake Electrical HV, MV, LV and Lighting Design from Concept through Detailed Design Phases.
Fully Conversant in ETAP, SYME app, etc.
Liaise with Approving Authorities such as ADWEA, ADDC, TRANSCO, KAHRAMAA, SEC, DEWA, RTA, Developers, Clients, etc.
Ensure that all designs are prepared in accordance with the latest local and international standards and must be able to coordinate all the activities required for obtaining approvals.
Produce designs and verify the drawings to ensure timely submission for NOC approvals from the Authorities and Clients.
Within the organization, liaise with other disciplines, departments and other engineers to prepare a well-coordinated design.
Coordinate with Architects, Interior Designers, Structural Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Specialty Lighting Consultants, Landscape Designers, etc.
Design Electrical network schemes from source to luminaires including distribution substations, Lighting Feeder Pillars/Mini Feeder Pillars, control cabinets, etc.
Designing HPS/LED street lighting network as per latest UAE, regional and International standards.
Preparation of BOQ, cable selections, voltage drop calculations, single line diagrams and load schedules.
Design of Traffic Signals (all types) including Electrical network schemes from source to traffic signals including distribution substations, traffic signal Feeder Pillars/Mini Feeder Pillars, control cabinets, etc.

المهارات
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related field) and typically 12+ years of related work experience. Professional Engineer registration may be required.
Has hands on Construction Supervision Experience.
Experience in General Roadway, Interchange lighting and bridge tunnel and underpass lighting Design.
Experience in Parking Area lighting, Underground Parking Structures, Pedestrian underpass lighting, landscape and hardscape lighting and water features lighting. Skills/Competence: Potential to perform in a lead capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required. Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
Should have in depth knowledge on Traffic signal programming, sequencing, etc. as per agency requirements, including integration with main control centers.
Competency in all aspects of lighting controls, dimming, traffic signal, intelligent control systems etc.
Thorough knowledge in design of lighting systems, lighting calculations, lighting virtual analysis using Dialux, Relux, AGI-32, luminaries data sheets, fixtures selection and lighting controls.
Familiarity in Photo shop, sketch up, Auto CAD, Micro-station etc. for presentations.
