Job Description and Requirements Plan, organize and supervise welding activities onboard and workshop to meet the set milestones in order to ensure timely delivery of projects with required safety, quality and productivity records. Read specifications and pre-planning job (Sequence of job, manpower, equipment). Develop & review project risk analysis Develop and review Fabrication plan, build strategies in order to formalize the optimum utilization of yard equipment and resources. Attend training for any activity required by the department. Ensure that welding supervision is fully in compliance with the ITP, WT requirement, Welding consumable procedure and equipment in use are validated. Ensure that all welding supervision are complying with DDWD ISO 3834- 2 manual annex 1 procedure. Develop detailed completion program with manpower loading. Review Dimension Control / Fit up inspections reports and guide the team for necessary proceedings to give the best fit for welding. Co-ordination of work progress with Project Manager, Owners representatives, other trades and within the department. Develop / review manpower request and target report prepared by foreman / Sr. Foreman Provide work done reports, descriptions and field reports to Invoicers / Estimators. Follow and report work progress. Liaise with department planning section for Productivity measurements as applicable Maintain Project file up-to-date as directed with all supporting documents. Proactive participation in identifying errors and effective reporting through NCIR system Train, motivate, appraise and provide feedback on training requirements to uplift the skill of subordinates Ensure that the Safety, Quality & Environment requirements of the yard are strictly followed. Perform other job related duties as assigned by the section head. Skills Degree or Diploma in Engineering or equivalent. Possess International Welding Specialist (IWS) certificate or any other acceptable / equivalent qualifications or internal training. CSWIP 3.2 Quality inspector or AWSCWI Qualified inspector Extensive familiarity with welding works / WPS and PQR with at least 8 years of experience as lead Foreman or Supervisor in Marine or New building Yard. Knowledge of NDE / NDT techniques. Thorough knowledge in various types of welding processes / WPS and steel structures. Basic knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials Knowledge and understanding of stress relieving processes Possess knowledge of MS office and Project Management skills Education |
