McDermott is seeking a Procurement Specialist for its operations in Dubai, UAE. The current role is within SCM Proposals, with long-term growth into projects. Responsible for putting procurement estimates together. Resolves problems and discrepancies that may occur and assists in implementing corrective actions. Ensures work is being coordinated between departments, offices, and suppliers to meet project requirements. Ensures effective management of procurement procedures.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
• Act as the prime interface between the Shared Procurement Services (SPS) and the Central Proposals and Estimations Team
• Interfacing with internal customers to ensure that deliverables are provided on schedule and to ensure all materials and procurement related requirements are met
• Review Commercial Bid Evaluations and Technical Bid Evaluations to agree on recommended suppliers
• Generate reports and presentations from multiple sources for senior management
• Develop Procurement Execution Plans, Strategic Sourcing Development and Scope of Work Preparation based on company guidelines and directives specific to the project and execution
• Manages own time to meet agreed targets; develops plans for short-term work activities in own

Basic Qualifications:
• Should have a strong working knowledge of project based procurement of specially engineered, complex equipment for large scale projects.
• Must be organized and able to effectively multitask and pro-actively manage multiple work fronts
• Able to work independently, and with others, as appropriate
• Hold Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering
• Must have over 8 years experience in heavy industry, with minimum of 3 years of procurement experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Demonstrates a broad knowledge of the procurement process
• Able to effectively communicate commercial solutions and concepts to procurement personnel and non-procurement personnel
