Reviewing EMS procedures in line with the standard considering relevant Compliance Obligation
Assisting the departments in reviewing their Environmental Aspect Assessments as or when required
Developing and improving Environmental Training Modules and carrying out environmental trainings
Liaising with local authorities on relevant permits/NOC and other requirements
Assisting local authorities during relevant inspections in yard as or when required
Reviewing of submitted requirements from projects and applying for relevant hazardous wastes disposal permit / NOC
Carrying out environment related incident investigations, identifying adequate controls and communicating it to relevant departments
Reviewing, verifying and closing of online NCIRs
Reviewing environment emergency scenarios and developing emergency plans where relevant
Preparation of EMS Internal Audit Plan and ensure adequate monitoring and implementation of the same
Attending and presenting environment presentation during monthly HSEQ Excellence Sessions
To ensure all men under their control have had appropriate training
To ensure appropriate resources are available to carry out the job safely
Planning manpower and equipment to ensure optimum use of resources
Carrying out inspection and audits (internal as well as external);
Communicate / coordinate with other trades
Attending Departmental Meetings
Analysing and monitoring performance of their activities
Reporting incidents and non-compliances
Exercise discipline at the work site to prevent absenteeism, unsafe work practices and idleness
Liaise with other discipline supervision to ensure the optimum utilization of available resources, with the overall objective of successful completion of the project
Create progress reports on a daily basis and ensure that any significant information is communicated to the supervisor i.e. resource shortfalls, surplus, HSEQ concerns
Assist the Environment Officer – Sr. in planning activities
Ensure that the workers are properly supplied with machineries, tools, equipment and materials and everything is in proper order and state of maintenance
Perform inspections to ensure that the workers performance is up to the set standards
Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work
Ensure that the Safety, Quality & Environment requirements of the yard are strictly followed
Perform other job related duties as assigned by the section head
