Senior Environmental Engineer

Reporting directly to the Regional Director of Sustainability and Environment, the senior environmental engineer will perform the following activities:
Act as the environmental discipline lead, reviewing technical submittals and studies prepared by others to assure quality and content, coordinating the integration of environmental controls within Project design and construction, liaising with environmental authorities to facilitate environmental permits and managing the performance of environmental subconsultants.
Procurement of environmental subconsultants, including peparation of scopes of work, commercial evaluations, work orders, subconsultancy agreements, and related documentation.
Preparing proposal documentation including environmental scope summaries, budget and staffing estimates.
Helps determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.
Conducting surveys, studies and site investigations.
Reviewing studies prepared by others.
Preparing technical studies, reports, plans, summaries and narratives.
Providing technical guidance to Project teams at all Project stages, including planning, design development, tendering and construction supervision.
Preparing submissions for environmental permits and licenses and coordinating with authorities to secure approvals.
Preparing progress reports, delivering presentations, preparing meeting minutes as required
Preparing and delivering training to Project teams.
Conducting environmental compliance audits and monitoring the implementation of corrective actions.
Preparing capability statements, project briefs and other marketing and communications material.
Providing technical consultation for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
Ensuring compliance of design with all applicable standards and regulations.
Developing standard design procedures and design briefs.
Assists with renewal of environmental licenses.

المهارات
Based in Abu Dhabi or Dubai.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are critical the role
An advanced degree is required (Msc. or pHd.)
At least 15 years of work experience in the fields of environmental engineering and environmental project management with a civil engineering / infrastructure development company.
At least 8 years of directly related work experience in the GCC.
Advanced degree in environmental science, environmental engineering or related natural sciences discipline from a recognized university.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
Excellent technical writing skills in the English language.
Capable of producing high quality documents in terms of grammar, composition, formatting, layout, spelling and organization.
Detail-oriented and thorough, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Capable of working independently to research, analyze and accurately solve techical problems.
Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams to provide technical environmental input.
Experience working with local environmental authorities and interfacing with client representatives.
Experience with managing environmental consultancy projects including environmental impact assessments, environmental engineering and feasibility studies, environmental monitoring and survey activities.
Driving license.
