Director - International Substantive Engagement will be responsible for the substantive engagement of Non Official Participants at EXPO 2020 Dubai with the goal of conceptualizing and designing a series of content and programming initiatives during the event.
Main responsibilities for this role include:
- Develop the short and long term goals of the section and its work plans with close guidance from the Vice President, from both operational and strategic perspective;
- Oversee the development of the full scope of events including planning, budgeting, and execution;
- Oversee the production of concept notes, briefing materials, and shaping and structuring the event venue, speakers, and logistics;
- Lead the delivery of EXPO 2020 Dubai’s commemoration of the International days and ensure seamless delivery of events against agreed standards. Take full responsibility for delivering the NOP’s substantive engagement across the engagement value chain in a seamless manner;
- Provide weekly reports and regular updates as necessary to senior management on engagement progress;
- Prepare the team to evolve as the nature of engagement with participant changes. Work closely with the VP on any, and all political or sensitive matters that are non-technical, for senior management guidance and action, as necessary;
- Project planning and management: - delivering projects against timelines, quality indicators and budgets; and seamless and professional delivery of services against agreed standards;

10+ years of relevant work experience including in positions of leadership and project management as well as:
- A Bachelor’s Degree holder in a related field;
- Excellent knowledge of international affairs;
- Strong negotiation skills;
- Strong communication skills;
- Strength and interest in an operational role;
- English fluency;
- Cross-functional management experience;
- Strategic thinking;
