• You will lead strategy, architect, design, and prototype infrastructure that aligns with the optical transport and switching architecture comprising of multi-vendor disaggregated DCI, DWDM photonics (fixed-grid and flex-grid) and all-optical switches • Utilizing your real passion for driving technology, you will develop use cases, architectures, technical specifications, requirements, system configuration documents for the next generation optical DWDM and switching networks and transport SDN to support optical interconnect services and backhaul for higher layer interconnection services • You are responsible for working with and building positive relationships with various partners (development, architecture, operations etc.) and external partners (vendors, standards bodies etc.) • Partnering with internal teams, you have ownership of proof of concept trials and securing resources including rack, space, power, and interconnections • This role will require you to develop technical architecture requirements documents, build and test architecture prototypes, develop and write test plans and scripts, and test in POC or sand box environments • Collaborate with partners in global network engineering and regional operations groups to discuss design/architecture options and resolve architecture issues and improve service availability through architecture enhancements/changes/quality improvement etc. for production networks for service provisioning, monitoring, and assurance • Collaborate with and/or delegate responsibilities to a team of engineers. • Assesses industry standards for models, and where appropriate, incorporates them into our architecture standards. • Participate as subject matter expert or technical lead on major projects. • Prepare Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) documentation for transport network systems, coordinate vendors, and evaluate vendor responses.

المهارات
• Degree in electrical engineering, electronics, and computer engineering or related field is required. Masters or PhD in optical communications/physics/electrical engineering is preferred. • 8+ years of telecommunications and optical network architecture and/or engineering • Domain expertise in optical transport (DWDM, OTN), Optical Switching (photonic/all-optical), System architecture/optical line system modeling or network design (OSNR, non-linear effects etc.), Network Management Systems (EMS/NMS) • In depth knowledge of telecommunications transport services including timedivision-multiplexing (e.g. T-1, SONET), DWDM, ROADM, G.709 Optical Transport Networks, Carrier Ethernet, etc. • Some background of IP networking focused on service provider, utility, or carrier routing and switching, MPLS, etc. • Some background of wireless technologies such as microwave radio, Wi-Max, LTE, etc. • Demonstrated knowledge of major industry standards: TMF, TNM, ETSI, ITU, ONF, Telcordia, etc. • Familiarity with test/troubleshoot/root cause analysis for optical DWDM and switching equipment hardware and software • You are familiar or have worked in various SDN technologies including controllers, orchestration, mediation, interfaces and APIs (REST, JSON, Yang models, NETCONF etc.), open interfaces (OpenConfig. OpenFlow etc.), and other conventional network management interfaces (SNMP, TL1 etc.) • Some experience in one or more of the following areas: large-scale, mission-critical applications, network management systems, Operations Support Systems, general large-scale system architecture or large-scale databases • Knowledge of optical test equipment (traffic generators, OSA, OTDR, CD/PMD, BERT, and optical power meters, etc.) • You posses the understanding of optical cabling standards in data centers or telco central offices • Familiarity with automation frameworks for optical networking labs or production networks • Excellent verbal and written communications skills • Strong project management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
