Lead Architect

الوصف الوظيفي
· Ownership of architecture strategy and vision for Client’s API. This position will drive the Client’s API vision across MPLS, internet operations, network design, service assurance, data centre and cloud. This role will lead API functional/non-functional requirements gathering, architecture, design and implementation.
· Leadership of Client’sAPI Centre of Excellence group. This role will lead an agile DevOps team to drive a pragmatic and realistic API development and release cycle. This CoE operates under a DevOps-style “release early, release often” software development principle that values rapid delivery and feedback from API end users.
· Demonstrated software design leadership. In additional to development, this role is responsible for creating supporting resources including reference architectures, API whitepapers and sample API applications.
· Pragmatic and realistic approach to greenfield API development. Successful candidates will be able to distinguish between easy API integration opportunities, and more difficult legacy applications/network elements integration. This position will make key long-term API architecture decisions (such as “gateway vs. sidecar/mesh”) in the context of an IP-MPLS programmable network.
· Understanding of web-scale software architecture and practices. Client’s uses containerised micro-service architecture to deliver highly available and scalable network services.
· Act as a trusted SME for APIs. This role will liaise with product managers, project managers, systems engineers and administrators to explain the value of APIs and how they should be used to increase automation and programmatic requests. A successful candidate in this position will be able to explain API concepts to staff members from a non-programming background.
· Hands-on experience and understanding API concepts. A successful candidate will be able to design and implement API authentication (OAuth), rate limiting, logging, caching, API mocking, virtualisation and sandboxing, OpenAPI/Swagger

المهارات
Extensive API, networking, and automation experience.
· Experience with API gateways including NGINX, Kong, Azure API Gateway, Amazon API Gateway.
· Experience with API development tools including Swagger.
· Successful candidates will have experience writing applications that interface with public REST APIs including Microsoft Azure API, Microsoft Graph API and the Amazon Web Services API.
· (preferred) Experience with public large-scale APIs includes the Facebook Graph API, WhatsApp Business API, Instagram API, Twitter API, Pinterest API, Snapchat API.
