Quantity Surveyor ( Civil & MEP Works) - Power Generation Sharjah Project
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
* Monitoring and coordination of Civil Works Subcontractor progress.
* Plan and organize surveying efforts to determine precise location and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, mapmaking, land division, titles, mining, or other purposes
* Keep accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed
* Perform field surveying to obtain data for base plans
* Provide work control lines and elevations that are required for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials by crafts, i.e., forms for concrete pours, anchor bolts, piping hangers and supports, etc.
* Provide topographic and cross-section surveys as required for planning and payment quantities.
* Provide quantity calculations as required.
* Strong coordination with Subcontractor Survey Team.
* Prepare documentation of surveying activities.
* Ensure that construction projects are completed within planned cost and time.
* Supervise construction activities to make sure they meet technical specifications.
* Strong knowledge of UAE and International Standards and regulations (Eurocode, ACI, ASSHTO, BS, API,…). Desirable Sharjah Regulations.
* Monitor costs, including labor time and materials.
* Build and manage schedules, ensuring all activities take place on or ahead of dates supplied in our contracts.
* Coordinate and communication with sub-contracts and field personnel, in coordination with the CW Manager, when applicable. This will involve supervision of civil works at times during the project.
* Prepare reports and document project activities for project management.
* Ensure that all work within his or her scope of work is being performed consistently with all applicable health and safety rules, regulations and guidelines, as per HSSE Project Plan.
* Ensure the fulfilment of QA/QC Plan. Attending and coordinating inspections with QA/QC inspectors, Subcontractors and O/E Field engineers.
* Familiar with QA/QC Procedures in Power Plants. MS, ITP, RFI, RMI, …
* Familiar with civil construction sequences on plants.
* Strong Knowledge of Power Plant civil works construction activities, such as earthworks, concrete works, precast, steel structure, underground networks, architectural works, pavement, finishings, building erection and internal finishing.
* Experience in Power Plants Projects. Waste to Energy Plant desirable. UAE/Middle east
المهارات
Knowledge & Experience Required:
* Technical degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying or equivalent experience.
* Experience with thermal power plants and MEP works.
* Experience with greenfield projects.
* 10-15 years relevant civil works construction experience in all.
* Strong knowledge of UAE and International Standards and regulations (Eurocode, ACI, ASSHTO, BS, API,…). Desirable Sharjah Regulations.
* Ability to read and understand job scope of work, drawings, specifications and planning schedules.
* Must have thorough understanding of civil construction principles, equipment, work methods
* Ability to work as a team. Must be self-motivated and have strong conditions to work under pressure.
* Strong Field Supervision experience, mainly in Power Plants.
* IT Skills required. AUTOCAD, AUTOCAD 3D, CLIP, INROADS, CIVIL 3D, REVIT, MS-Project or Primavera, Office Package and Adobe PDF.
* Ability to work with Document Exchange Platform.
* Fluent in English. Desirable Arabic.
* QS in civil, structural and MEP Pre and Post contract
* preparing BOQ’s in civil, structural, architectural and MEP based on drawings
* Site surveying to be able to make up QS status reports
* preferable experienced in thermal power plants (equivalent oil & gas plant or heavy Industrial plants could be good as well)
* Civil and MEP site supervision experience, preferably for a EPC contractor and controlling subcontractors
