We are looking for a Kitchen Manager to supervise daily back of house restaurant operations.
The Kitchen Manager responsibilities include supervising the food prep and cooking, maintaining a fully-stocked kitchen inventory and complying with safety and cleanliness standards. To be successful in this role, one should be able to manage our kitchen staff and guide them to deliver quality food on time as per our standards. The manager will ensure all plates are properly cooked, served and our customers have a pleasant dining experience for this to be successful the manager is expected to learn about our food and culture.
The manager will help come up with ideas for growth, expansion, ways we can generate extra revenue etc

Kitchen Manager responsibilities include:
• Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders
• Supervise food prep and cooking
• Check food plating and temperature
• Establish portion sizes and improve recipe book
• Schedule kitchen staff shifts
• Price menu items in collaboration with the Restaurant Manager and owners
• Order food supplies and kitchen equipment, as needed
• Train kitchen staff on prep work and food plating techniques
• Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators)
• Keep weekly and monthly cost reports
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area
• Order supplies, food and ingredients based on rapidly shifting demand
• Hire and train kitchen staff in specific stations, and cross-train as necessary
• Create schedules for kitchen staff to ensure there are always enough workers to meet the demand, particularly for the lunch and dinner rush
• Maintain inventory levels and conduct full weekly inventory
• Schedule and oversee necessary maintenance and repairs on kitchen appliances
• Assist the Restaurant Manager with menu changes and adjustments based on seasonal availability
• Respond personally to guest questions and complaints
• 5+ years’ culinary experience
• 2+ years’ restaurant management experience
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Capable of conducting and assessing restaurant inventory
• Willing to work a flexible schedule
• Experience with delegating tasks and maintaining fast speed of service
• Proven work experience as a Kitchen Manager, Restaurant Manager or Head Chef
• Hands-on experience with planning menus and ordering ingredients
• Knowledge of Afghan cuisine
• Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
• Excellent organizational skills
• Conflict management abilities
• Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment
• Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends
• Creating and improving the efficiency of existing systems
