JOB SUMMARY:
Quality Manager is responsible to develop and coordinate in administrating the Quality Assurance program. Also, responsible to establish test programs and procedures to effectively maintain the QA system and to assure that QA procedures and policies are aligned with the overall NOV Wellbore Technologies Quality Assurance framework.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Direct and coordinate compliance with all applicable standards such as ISO 9001, API Specs. Q1/ 7-1/14L, and other applicable product/customer requirements. Establish the overall requirements for QA specifications and standards for materials, processes and finished products.
Facilitate and lead team efforts to establish and monitor customer/supplier relations, support strategic planning and deployment initiatives, and help develop measurement systems to determine QA improvements.
Motivate and evaluate staff, manage projects and human resources, analyze financial situations, determine and evaluate risk and employ knowledge management tools and techniques in resolving challenges.
Implement and support a culture of “first time quality”. Lead and champion process-improvement initiatives, such as Process Capability, RCA, Data analysis and using recognized Quality improvement tools.
Ensure performance of in-process certifications of production work to support first time quality meeting all contractual requirements. Continually review the QA system to formulate new procedures or revise existing ones to effect improvements, reduce operational costs and enhance overall efficiency.
Organizing, implementing, and providing oversight of an effective process-audits and Surveillance program to ensure adequate review of all aspects of manufacturing in accordance with applicable standards.
Determine the resources required to continually support an effective QA system for all aspects of manufacturing with attention given to planning for future production work.
Plan and coordinate the facility’s QA objectives for continuous improvement in all aspects of the business, including but not limited to the QA department goals, product performance issues, training and feedback.
• Develop required process control procedures to insure processes, work in progress and finished goods meet the specified quality standards. Coordinate and direct inspection and testing procedures for raw materials, process and finished products.
Review product and process non-conformances and recommend remedial actions, including but not limited to modifications of processes, products or QA standards where warranted.
Support engineering department as necessary in establishing standards for new processes and products prior to production. Support Supply Chain to qualify suppliers and sub-contractors and provide technical assistance to supplier when required to improve the overall quality and/or reduce costs.
Maintain close contact with global QA team activities, providing advice and direction as requested on procedures, process/product inspection requirements and equipment.
Ensure that all QA department personnel are trained to perform their jobs effectively and manage the QA departmental budget and other administrative functions to insure an efficient operation that is cost effective and well-integrated.
Communicate with suppliers when necessary on specific QA issues and incidents.
• Facilitate formal investigation of incidents and assessment of risk providing procedures and training to prevent future re-occurrence. Ensure identified actions are tracked to closure.
• Assist in the development of the HSEQ business continuity plan and deployment.
• Observe HSE regulations, encourages safe working practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel.
• Ensure to comply with all NOV HSE procedures and policies and maintain relevant HSE logs.
• Sustain the 5s and lean process as per facility procedures.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
BS Engineering or Higher
Quality System Lead Auditor Training and certification
Six Sigma training and preferably certification (Green Belt/Black Belt) from a reputed organization
Supervisory/Managerial experience
