Responsible for maintaining the system support for
Enterprise Unix addressing the availability and security
aspects of the data
* Ensure that the Bank’s technical
infrastructure is kept up to date, from both a hardware
and software perspective. Implement appropriate
methodologies, standards and best practices in order to
achieve the Bank’s objectives
* Adherence to Service
Level Agreements, ensuring system availability in terms
of operating system, databases and hardware. Service
level reporting.
* Responsible for the coaching of
Technical Support staff and enhancing skill and career
development of the staff
* Responsible for Project
Management of the implementation of various related
projects
* As the Unix Administrator, work closely with
other members of the infrastructure function and with
the Server Management function within the Servers and
UNIX team, to keep the fleet of servers and storage
operational and available to the users
* Responsible for
producing Management Information reports and
Continuous Service Improvement Plans for the
Technical Support Services to improve quality of service
to the business
* Responsible for analyzing the capacity
requirements and perform required capacity
management and product lifecycle management. *
Responsible for provision of Disaster Recovery
capabilities as defined in the SLA
* Work as part of a
multidisciplinary
team, in accordance with defined
quality management practices, to achieve common
objectives
* Fully understand the interaction between
the IT department the Business units
* Work with
Problem Management to perform analysis to identify
underlying problems and reduce avoidable incidents
within the IT Infrastructure
* Lead by example and be
able to quickly establish respect of both, team members
المهارات
Unix Administrator role will involve providing Middleware technical administration support and manage the Emirates NBD IT Technical Support Services.
The person must
possess self confidence in his / her technical abilities to perform day to day Middle ware administration & project Migration as well as troubleshoot production issues.
This position will be required to provide 24 x 7 support; predominantly telephone and onsite support on a frequent basis.
