Your Role:
Designs and ensures the implementation of product and ingredient regulatory compliance policy and operating procedures that ensure our products meet or exceed all legal requirements in the countries where they are sold
Provide support to the business for bigger, bolder claims that differentiate ekaterra products from the competition while meeting all regulatory compliance needs
Leverage the Scientific Affairs global ecosystem to provide product and ingredient compliance support to innovation project teams and business units
Coordinate compliance support for innovation projects with external providers
Provide strategic guidance on product regulatory compliance and surveillance to leadership teams
To advise and guide the business teams on risks and consequences to enable risk-reward assessment
Your Key Tasks: First point of contact for regulatory compliance in the AMET-BSPAN region that includes the key markets of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, UAE, and Nigeria.
Provide ingredient and product compliance expertise across ekaterra prorammes and projects including assessments for contaminants and potential new ingredients
Deliver transparent, well documented product and ingredient regulatory compliance assessments to project teams
Assess, interpret and communicate data/outcomes of findings to relevant stakeholders (internal and external) including risk profile and mitigation strategies
Identifies and manages consultants, external RA experts related to the innovation projects/launched products of the category
Support product stewardship (advocacy) with external organizations as regards ekaterra products and ingredients
Build relationship with scientific institutions relevant to ekaterra products and oversee relationship with service suppliers
Take part in developing training modules and provide training sessions to the internal stakeholders
Stakeholder Management and key interfaces:
Reports into Senior Manager Claims and Compliance
The Job Holder will be the AMET-BSPAN part of a network of product and ingredient regulatory compliance professionals based in the four Management Units around the world
Skills and Experience:
Fluent in English and local language
Minimum B.Sc. in relevant field
Ability to assess regulatory compliance risks and opportunities and the impact they could have on the business
Credibility and expertise in being able to influence internal and external stakeholders on regulatory compliance issues that brings real value to the business
Experience in interacting with, and influencing external stakeholders such as trade associations, regulatory authorities and NGO’s
Proven experience in the food and/or FMCG industries. Experience with beverages would be an advantage
Must have relevant experience at a regional level. Experience at the global level would be a bonus
A proven track record of active collaboration with R&D;and non-R&D;functions in bringing products to market
Strong networking and communication skills towards multifunctional stakeholders
Excellent oral and written communication skills (English and local language)
Pro-active self-direction with a high level of initiative and persistence and a hands-on approach to results delivery
Comfortable with change and a fast-moving environment
Ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams and in multi-cultural environments
