Faculty Position in Industrial Engineering (Manufacturing)

Job Description and Requirements
The Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah is seeking to fill a faculty position in industrial engineering in the subject area of manufacturing for Spring Semester 2019, beginning in early January, at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Candidates for this position must have a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering with specialization in manufacturing (manufacturing processes, material science, automation, production and control and CAD/CAM). The primary responsibility of the faculty position is to teach undergraduate courses in AURAK’s industrial engineering program. All classes and other campus activities are conducted only in English. The successful candidate will be active in research in his/her fields of interests, incorporate high-impact educational practices in his/her teaching, advise undergraduate students, and provide service to the department, university, and community.

Extent of experience with ABET accreditation requirements must be indicated in the cover letter. Applicants must also indicate in the cover letter whether they would like to be considered for a full-time continuing position or a full-time visiting position.

Required qualifications:

· Doctoral degree in Industrial Engineering with a specialization in manufacturing from an accredited institution of higher education

· Effective communication skills

· Commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship

· University teaching experience

· Interest and experience working effectively with a diverse student population

· Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with faculty from a variety of disciplines
