Senior Start-Up Operations Specialist (Certified SRO - PWR Only)

Brief , support, coach and mentor the duty shift manager and shift supervisor staff throughout the planning, execution and post close-out phases of initial plant alignment, surveillance testing and operability, initial fuel load, power ascension testing and initial start up to ensure safe commercial operations of Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) as per the regulatory requirements, operating policies and principles, nuclear standards for nuclear safety, industrial safety, and environmental protection, to ensure overall business performance objectives are achieved
1. Support, coach, and mentor the on-shift MCR staff:

Coach MCR operators and maintain oversight of integrated plant operations during Fuel load PAT-related activities initial plant start up leading to safe commercial operation.

Assist Senior Reactor Operators in determining operating conditions, system alignments, and equipment manipulations during special tests, infrequently performed evolutions, or abnormal conditions

Assist shift crews in performing operations in accordance with established performance standards during normal and abnormal conditions using approved operating procedures

Assist Senior Reactor Operators in decision making based on normal and special test procedures with input from operational and technical resources

Review assignments prior to plant activities such as surveillances, maintenance troubleshooting, or component manipulations that could initiate plant transients

Assist Senior Reactor Operators in monitoring plant operations on a day-to-day basis and perform periodic assessments to identify areas for improvement including fitness-for-duty of shift crew

2. Staff Training and Qualification:
Comply with management expectations and communicate with department to ensure high level of safety and reliability of plant

Monitor and coach to improve performance

Attend training to equip necessary technical knowledge and skills and successfully complete all required training courses

Provide training feedback on program effectiveness with evaluation of operator performance

3. Coach, mentor and advice operating crews throughout unit 1 and 2 fuel load, PAT and initial plant start-up leading to safe commercial operations:
Communicate and engage all stakeholders in the efficient delivery of unit 1 & 2 fuel load PAT and start up leading to safe commercial operations

Take oversight and co-ordinate the Development operational effectiveness to meet schedules and plans

Review and amend operational and supporting Nawah procedures to ensure alignment to General Operation Procedures and Normal Operating Pro

Academic Qualification and Experience:
Minimum: Previously licensed Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) with 4 years + of related work experience equivalent to a BS degree in Engineering or scientific discipline
Preferred: Previously licensed Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) and BS degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline
Technical Competency:

Good understanding of nuclear power plant design and modification.

Understanding of license basis requirements.

Able to establish and maintain constructive working relationships with peers within the site and across nuclear.

Highly developed leadership and management skills

English fluency

Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a knowledge-based organization
