The Medical Resources Specialist is responsible for the development of educational materials and the coordination of LRC educational events, and performs a variety of academic support services to faculty and students. This support includes: answering student and faculty enquiries in the use of LRC educational resources, equipment, and facilities; troubleshooting computer hardware and software problems; , setting up the video classroom and computer labs for class use and coordinate the E-learning System, assist in teaching IT course and interactive blackboard communication tools and follow up the students attendance. General Tasks: • Performing day-to-day tasks such as monitoring classrooms /PBL and TBL Activities. • Coordinates all aspects of the Community Outreach program and its activities involving students • Coordinates all aspects of the E-learning System • Coordinates all aspects student attendance checking for discrepancies • As requested, assumes responsibility for the management of the LRC in the absence of the Director. • Development of Educational Materials and Events • Maintains the organization of medical materials, and routinely ensures that materials are in good repair and accessible to students. Specialized Tasks • Develop and maintains SharePoint websites and databases. • Assist in the teaching of CMHS Numeracy and IT course for freshmen students. • As requested, assist in teaching the medical information literacy programs by demonstrating the use of online medical databases. • As requested, assist in teaching the medical information literacy programs by demonstrating the use of online medical databases. • Perform maintenance and trouble-shooting procedures on audiovisual equipment and interactive Smart Boards during sessions for efficient use of technology • Help in analysis for LRC equipment selection to achieve the objectives outlined by CMHS needs • Train faculty/student and staff in the use of audio-visual equipment. • Record and edit audio-visual material such as lectures, movies, soundtracks, using audiovisual recording and editing equipment and software • Troubleshoot and resolve classroom computers hardware and software issues. • Provides support to Blackboard users and administrate the Blackboard (BB) Learning Management System (LMS) for the CMHS’s delivery of instruction. • Support faculty in the development and use of medical courseware designed to engage students and achieve learning outcomes. • Create and coordinate Blackboard courses structures and uploading materials and resources on to the blackboard • Train academic, non-academic staff and students on how to use blackboard and create courses. • Assists in the creation of online materials by finding relevant medical resources and information, and participates in multi-media and web design for educational materials.
