eMagine Solutions have been retained a leading defense consultancy company to help them expand their team globally.

As a real-time embedded Software Engineer you’ll play a vital role in solving clients’ challenges. You’ll get involved across the entire Software Development Lifecycle, developing, delivering, and supporting bespoke software solutions. As we are a consultancy, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects with us. You are likely to initially work on an exciting C/C++ prototype which implements a complex mathematical algorithm. You will be contributing to the design, development and documentation of major new features.

What you can bring?

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have solid mathematical skills gained either through academic study (e.g., undergraduate level Maths/Physics/Engineering) or through technical experience. You will be comfortable solving problems and writing algorithms with a mathematical element, including:

• Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces, and hardware

subsystems and Proven experience in embedded systems design with pre-emptive, multitasking real-time

operating systems

• Be able to demonstrate practical technical experience of software development using C/C++, ideally real-time embedded.

• Have experience of the full software lifecycle beyond development, for example including requirements capture, test and or QA as well as development.

• Be comfortable writing reports and technical documentation.

• Be a strong collaborator, able to support others and able to work effectively in a small team where frequent communication is essential.

• Be pro-active and a self-starter, able to work independently.

المهارات
Experience of working with Linux or other real time operating systems, using the C++ Graphics Library Qt, developing software using Agile Scrum methodology or developing Safety Critical Software (e.g., MISRA standard) would be advantageous but is not essential.

Your purpose:

As a real-time/embedded Software Engineer you will:

• Develop real-time and embedded software solutions and prototypes, working in small teams following an Agile delivery methodology.

• Apply your knowledge to contribute to the design of technical solutions.

• Engage with clients, stakeholders and Product Owners.

• Document the design, development and delivery of technical solutions.

• Mentor junior staff to aid their development.
