Structure Design Engineer

Job Objective:

Typical duties will include preparation and/or modification of the liquid retaining structural items(and related buildings) related to engineering calculations, plans, design, and layout, project specifications, project proposals, cost estimates.

Key Accountabilities:

• Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills, and experience.
• Provide drawing for own designs and produce sketches to incorporate in drawings by
Designers/Drafters.
• Assist in research design options and document findings for project.
• Review shop drawings.
• Assist in develop probable construction cost estimates for assigned projects.
• Does front end layout and design of complex systems and equipment as applicable to the respective discipline.
• Provides for compliance with items such as specifications, tolerances, safety factors and requirements of client.
• Performs specialized design computations and analysis within a given discipline.
• Performs interdisciplinary reviews and provides coordinating data to ensure a compatible design.
• Understands and applies company commonly used design standards and methods.
• Helps establish or revise guidelines, as appropriate.
• Coordinates with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure quality of design.
• Reviews supplier data as required.
• Reads supplier/manufacturer drawings.
• Checks orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others.
• Performs checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline and assigned by the immediate supervisor.
• May direct and supervise Drafters activities.
• Helps train lower level Designers.
• Completes additional duties as assigned.
المهارات
Experience & Qualification:

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Min. of 5 years of experience (GCC region experience is preferred).
• Should be innovative, competent, proficient, eager to learn, and result oriented.
• Should have good knowledge in structural computer software such as STAAD, SAAP200, and Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Should have knowledge in Codes related to liquid retaining structures such as BS 8007 and ACI 350.
