Procurement Specialist

JOB PURPOSE:

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for evaluating suppliers, products, and services, contract negotiations, oversee purchasing activities, and ensuring that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high quality in compliance with the company standards. The role should also be monitoring stock levels and oversee the movement of incoming and outgoing goods. Core responsibilities include maintaining positive supplier relations, evaluating supply options, and manages logistics support to ongoing land, air, and sea cargo operations.

OVER-ALL SCOPE:

Receives and acknowledges material/stock requisition
Analyze stock level report prior to purchase
Responsible for preparing and sending RFQ
Negotiates with suppliers, ensuring best quality with the lowest rate, long time availability of products, warranty services, and efficient payment terms.
Prepare Study / Comparison Sheet and Evaluate quotations for Purchase Order preparation and financial approval.
Responsible for sending/tracking Purchase Order
Responsible for obtaining and renewing insurances and contracts
Responsible for receiving and checking all deliveries
Responsible for distribution of materials
Monitoring Stock level and setting the reorder entry of each item.
Providing accurate status and monthly stock inventory
Ensures proper distribution of stocks to prevent capital and asset loss
Follow up inquiry and delivery status
Maintain proper storekeeping using Environmental Health and Safety Management System to determine and prevent hazards inside the area.
Inventory Reports and movement analysis, Conducting Cycle Count.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Procurement, Logistics, Resourcing, Contract & Vendor Management, and Supply Chain Management.
Should have a solid logistics background
Proven track record of efficient vendor/supplier relations in the UAE.
Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing degree preferred.
Software Experience - Oracle, SAP, Dolphin System
Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification is an advantage.
Computer literate, with advanced MS Excel skills.
