Job Description
Irrigation Technicians install, test, and maintain irrigation equipment including sprinklers, pumps, water lines, and suction valves. Irrigation Technicians may also be required to operate heavy machinery for trenching and install wiring systems for water timers.
Candidate Requirements
maintain the irrigation equipment assigned to him or in a specific area. This equipment can include sprinklers, water lines, pumps, suction devices, valves and other plumbing equipment. This equipment can sometimes be buried underground and must be excavated to be maintained, so irrigation technicians should be comfortable working with digging equipment such as backhoes, shovels and augers. The irrigation technician reports to the irrigation manager or supervisor.
