Civil Technician (Aluminum and Carpentry)

The Civil Technician – Aluminum and Carpentry reports directly to the Hard-Technical Services Coordinator

Aluminum experience
• Must be an expert of fabrication of aluminum or steel cladding, ceilings, gypsum boards inclusive of hanging, beading, gasketing, of Aluminum Frames, i.e. Doors, Windows, Curtain Wall, Cabinets and Cupboards
• To ensure the maintenance schedule is achieved as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to meet targets and deadlines
• Use of various machinery i.e. Punch Tools, Mitre Saw, Copy Router, Pillar Drill
• Provide Technical Support, to both the maintenance services team, and the overall business
• To ensure all internal maintenance is performed daily and reporting all maintenance issues to the Hard-Technical Services Coordinator
• Knowledge and awareness of aluminum products
• Installation of Composite Aluminum Wall panels, Composite Aluminum Wall finishes, Steel framing and similar
• Read blueprints or work order specifications to determine layout and installation procedures install siding and cladding products according to specifications and building codes
• Install flashing and standard metals. Site fabrication and installation of various rain-screen systems
• Site fabrication and installation of various rain-screen systems
• Operate light metalworking tools, in order to cut, bend, drill, shape or straighten metal panels
• Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to specifications

Carpentry experience
• Proven experience as a carpenter in a Facility Management company
• Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
• Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
• Ability to read technical documents and drawings
• Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
• Participate in overtime, shift work and/or out of hours working as governed by the necessity to maintain continuity of operations
• Participate in emergency on-call service during non-working hours, weekends and public holidays
