Job Description and Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Lead/Manage CAD staff, assigning tasks to individuals, being responsible for Projects’ CAD deliverables, and conducting day-to day-output of CAD production.
Good understanding of CAD packages, predominantly on AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, Navisworks, Bentley Microstation, ProjectWise, Aconex, BIM360, etc.
Work closely with BIM Manager, Design Manager, Design Director to ensure the project’s compliance with the given policies and processes, and to ensure timely implementation and completion.
Ability to provide overall direction of BIM activities of CAD/BIM team in assigned areas including BIM implementation, integration, maintenance, training, design interface, quality and identification of potential liabilities and/or concerns.
Ability to review each drawing for readability, presentation and adherence to standards, in accordance to company QA/QC process.
Ability to develop and maintain CAD object (2D & 3D) library following Company’s standards
Proficient in establishing proper CAD/BIM structures, policies and procedures for the CAD group.
Ability to identify opportunities and recommendations for increasing workflow efficiencies.
Ability to train and supervise CAD group in core application skills and standards.
Lead and audit project information models and drawings to ensure CAD group working in line with CAD/BIM standards in CDE environment.
Able to develop and well plan short- and long-term CAD resource plans and develop budget and overall program for CAD group.
Essentials:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
12+ years of previous experience of managing CAD production in an engineering consultancy, especially in major roads and infrastructure projects
Previous experience of BIM / CAD management in UAE or MEA
Previous experience in implementing CAD standards, preferably through automation and CAD customization.
Familiar with conducting project related model reviews
Good knowledge of ProjectWise CDE, and BIM Standards, such as ISO19650 and BS/PAS1192.
Excellent communication skills, numeric and computer literacy skills. Ability to produce spreadsheets using MS Excel to evaluate performance of people, technology, systems, standards, processes and expectations for CAD production timelines.
Excellent organization and time management skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines. Ability to work effectively in a team but also able to work on own initiative
Confident communicator with all levels of personnel
Excellent organizational skill to maintain documentation records of generated design deliverables.
