Maintenance Support Manager – UAE Nationals only (Barakah based)

Oversee the rigging, scaffolding, insulation, welding, civil and coatings work performed by employees and Long Term Maintenance Strategy (LTMS) contractors, of all Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) facilities. Verify that the organization is capable of performing the required work. Lead the department activities in support of continuous improvement, including department responsibilities for CAP and Foreign Material Exclusion (FME) coordination. Ensure that activities are performed per regulatory requirements, nuclear standards for nuclear safety, industrial safety, and environmental protection requirements and commitments. 1. Support of Maintenance • Monitor all activities in rigging, scaffolding, coatings, insulation, welding and civil (includes oversight of LTMS contractors performing these activities) to ensure they are performed in alignment with other maintenance and Operations activities and with Work Management and Outage Management schedules.
• Manage administration of plant level activities in support of Nuclear Performance Improvement (NPI) to ensure reduction and avoidance of errors.
• Coordinate training to ensure timely qualification and requalification of plant maintenance personnel.
• Prepare for World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) pre-start up peer reviews to ensure alignment to industry best practices.
• Develop maintenance convenient facility items and manage Maintenance Shops to ensure organizational excellence.
• Monitor identification of equipment improvement items and request procurement for equipment turned over and spare parts and special tools to ensure an adequate supply of maintenance equipment and materials.
• Maintain the welding, rigging, painting, insulation and scaffolding workshops and storage areas across the plant to the highest safety and operational standards.
• Monitor activity and confirm that all the maintenance support functions are in full compliance with the Occupational health and Safety standards of Abu Dhabi.
• Manage the overarching maintenance support functions and coordination of Corrective Actions, Training and Foreign Material Exclusion to ensure successful implementation of the CAP and FME programs.
• Ensure that the supplemental workers are familiar and compliant with the Conduct of Maintenance. 2. Staff Training and Qualification • Develop management expectations and communicate with department to ensure high level of safety and reliability of plant systems.
• Critically evaluate performance of individual staff to develop necessary training.
• Verify training programs provide necessary technical knowledge and skills to ensure staff are properly trained and qualified to conduct assigned responsibilities. 3. Outage and Emergency Response Organization (ERO) Support • Support outage and/or the ERO, as assigned, to ensure safe, reliable and continued operations; this may require shift work/off hours support. 4. Operational Planning • Provide input into the development of the Division’s systems, processes and procedures, as well develop and implement the Department’s systems and processes, identifying potential areas of improvement to ensure efficient, effective, safe and risk-free operations as well as compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor, control and report Operational and financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to the Department, to track performance and recommend corrective or mitigating actions.
• Ensure that all relative reports are prepared timely and accurately, and meet the Department’s requirements and standards. 5. Health and Safety and Security • Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the Division/Department/Section by the delivery of the Health and Safety Management Program to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality services and a responsible environmental attitude.
• Follow all relevant Security policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure security compliance in all aspects of work, by applying them on self, others and Corporate assets.
• Ensure compliance with corporate requirements for adherence to policies, procedures and instructions related to Crisis Management and Business Continuity in order to continue mission critical activities. 6- People Management • Manage the effective achievement of the Organization’s objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff, and providing formal and informal constructive feedback and appraisal - in order to maximize subordinate and department performance.
• Contribute to the development of UAE National employees in a manner which supports the objectives of the corporation and its Emiratization strategy.
• Contribute to knowledge dissemination/sharing in a way that assists with building internal capabilities of UAE Nationals where applicable and maximize their effective performance. 7- Excellence and Quality Management • Ensure commitment to a culture of continuous improvement by eliminating waste, following operations procedures, practicing innovation, problem solving, and teamwork; complying with Quality Management System policies and procedures; providing and receiving constructive feedback, and striving to meet quality standards and stakeholder expectations.
• Ensure Commitment to the Nawah Fundamentals.
المهارات
• Diploma or Equivalent.
• 10 years of relevant experience, out of which:-
- 2 years in a Managerial role,including:
i. Nuclear power operations.
ii. Refueling outage (or initial fuel load).
iii. Startup Testing.
- 2 years Nuclear Power Plant experience.
