Job Purpose
As a Business Intelligence Developer, you should have some initial exposure to working within a fast paced Agile IT environment.
Furthermore, you should have a passion for working with different BI technology and discovering new ways of interpreting data in a commercial environment.
Experience of designing and developing insightful analysis to answer business questions. You will directly interface with the product and analytics team to discover visualization methods to present advanced analytics data. You will build dashboards, reports, visualizations in BI tools to solve interesting business problems.
You should be a commercially focussed individual who is able to communicate well with a broad range of stakeholders from the requirements gathering stage to interpretation. You should be able to easily discuss technical subjects with both peers in IT, and also with non-technical colleagues across the broader business.
Key Responsibilities
Job Specific Responsibilities
Understanding user needs and designing services to support them.
Business Analysis including requirement gathering, stakeholder management and solution definition
Design, Develop, Test and deploy complex interactive reports and dashboards for visual insights using Tableau .
Supporting the production of BI reporting for senior stakeholders and board members.
Implement and query databases/datastores as per the BI design and requirements.
Writing queries in either SQL or NoSQL databases.
Developing, enhancing and maintaining reports, dashboards and data models.
Collaborate with engineering and product development teams
Proactively advice on best practices.
Assist in budgeting process.
Educational Qualification
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related preferred
Experience Minimum 3 years
Essential Skills
Have experience in understanding business stakeholders’ objectives, the metrics that are the most important to them, and how they measure their performance.
Have experience with Tableau to create impactful reports, visualizations, and interactive dashboards.
Have demonstrable experience in a report development, business analytics, business intelligence tools, techniques and technology.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, design, develop, and deliver business intelligence solutions to address business needs and opportunities
Work with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server to manage and curate various live and extracted (TDE) datasources
Design efficient data model
Have demonstrable experience of successfully understanding user needs and designing services to support them
Have In-depth knowledge with data visualization best practices
Have In-depth knowledge of interfacing Tableau with external data sources
Have demonstrable experience of using databases and data warehouse services
Have demonstrable experience of handling large data sets.
Have demonstrable experience using Agile methods and practices
Have demonstrable experience of best practices in data visualization
Have demonstrable experience of successfully design and implementation for cloud based BI / data analytics solutions utilising Tableau.
Adept at writing Database/DataStore queries, inclusive of SQL.
AWS or similar cloud platform exposure
Experience working with educational data sets.
Excellent communication skills.
