JOB PURPOSE • Coordinate Department activities by providing the required documents / relevant information to internal and external lawyers in addition to normal secretarial support to the Department Head. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 1 Co-ordinate with internal legal advisors and external lawyers by providing them with the relevant documents and other information to obtain the court decree in Bank’s interest. 2 Conduct preliminary inquiry to find out the details of assets, supporting documents and other whereabouts of defaulters to build up the case to support prompt legal action by visiting Branches if required. 3 Act as first contact point and ensure timely and appropriate responses to internal and external customers under Head’s and lawyer’s guidance. 4 Co-ordinate with Recovery Section of the Credit Department to support the speedy recovery efforts. 5 Draft replies, type legal documents as advised and where appropriate, prepare self-correspondence to ensure timely and appropriate responses to internal customers. 6 Maintain filing system, update records and ensure the safe custody of confidential documents to ensure easy retrieval. 7 Follow up pending matters efficiently to ensure the completeness of the work within deadlines. 8 Act as office manager ensuring work discipline and maintenance of the office including the replenishment of office supplies etc. to relieve the Head of the Department from routine and minor issues.
