Job Description and Requirements Job Details: + Effectively lead and contribute to transport planning and traffic engineering project tasks for various transport studies. + Takes the lead on relevant projects and/or main project tasks. + Provide development control, spatial planning and transport strategy advice. + Be responsible for the delivery of relevant project reports. + Be aware of and adhere to relevant legislation, codes of practice and departmental policies when planning and delivering transportation and traffic engineering related projects in the region. + Continuously improve technical and industry knowledge by participating in forums and other industry related programs. + Research, analyse and report on a range of transportation and traffic engineering related projects. + Act as Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager as necessary including monitoring of financial and team performance. + Develop project plans and detailed methodologies together with technical leader. + Ensuring appropriate local resourcing levels for project work to be delivered efficiently. + Provide technical support and supervision to junior staff. + Ensuring technical content and quality of output produced are in line with the project brief and AECOMs quality procedures. + Manage sub-consultants to produce deliverables against agreed timescales and in line with budget. + Produce guides, case studies and deliver presentations. + Manage and/or contribute to the preparation of client reports, bringing together the contributions from other specialist areas of the business. + Review internal processes for effectiveness and efficiency and suggest possible areas for improvement where necessary. + Support team manager in mentoring junior staff. Other duties as required: + Business Development Support. + Support practice leader in ensuring key strategic relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders. are effectively developed, managed and maintained. + Provide significant inputs to the preparation of technical and financial bids for major projects in the region and across other business lines. + Manage, lead and produce technical and financial bids for medium to small size projects in the region and across other business lines. + Ensure delivery is in line with the Business Lines corporate objectives, on time and within the agreed budget. + Effectively represent AECOM to relevant government departments, external agencies and other bodies appropriate to the post. + Support practice leader in developing and implementing initiatives to enhance AECOMs Transportation Planning services offering, product, and supporting infrastructure (e.g. software, traffic analysis tools, capability statement, etc.) + Maintain appropriate liaison with the business community, stakeholder and advisory groups. + Identify and recommend talent within the transport planning field, and work with the practice leader and Director of SP&A;to recruit other transport planners/engineers into the SP&A;team to enhance local capabilities and grow the business in accordance with workload. + Assist practice leader in identifying opportunities and prospects. + Liaise with other AECOM geographies to maximize the AECOM offering. Specific Skills Required: + Good understanding of industry transportation planning and traffic engineering practices, including the underlying principles sufficient to carry out and lead transport studies + Working knowledge of GIS packages such as ArcGIS and MapInfo will be an advantage + A clear appreciation and understanding of fundamental transportation planning principles + Good report writing and presentational skills + Good Project Management experience and skills + Sound commercial acumen and business awareness Person Specification: The candidate is expected to lead by example and should demonstrate strong leadership attributes, such as: + Proactive + Decisive + Pragmatic + Organized + Responsive General performance attributes relate to: + The ability to communicate effectively, prepare presentations and reports + participate constructively in project teams + Committed to quality outcomes + good personal organisation *Minimum Requirements** + Experience in traffic analysis and using HCS, SYNCHRO-SimTraffic, SIDRA, + Experience with various strategic modelling platforms such as Cube and VISUM (preferred). + Member of one of more professional organisations as asset (e.g. Charted Institute of Logistics and Transportation, PEng, PE). + Abu Dhabi work experience is preferred. *Preferred Qualifications** + Masters Degree Transport related (preferred). |
