Electrical Engineer

Job Description and Requirements
*Job Summary**
Serves as a capable Electrical Engineer professional in the MEP design team, leading work on specific elements of a project with minimal direction and supervision of a Senior Engineer or designated senior team members.

+ Preparation of electrical design calculations, drawings, specifications, and tender documents.

+ Participate in the design progress and coordination meetings.

+ Drawing production (Design Brief compliance, completeness & accuracy)

+ Design co-ordination

+ Guiding and management of junior staff

*Job Duties:**
+ Organises own and others work to achieve set deadlines

+ Leads pro-active coordination with internal and external design disciplines to achieve a high quality consistent set of presentation or design documents

+ Proactively checks and coordinates project documents

+ Prepares designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, drawings, develops details, develops specifications. Electrical Services Design, lighting, LV Supply, small power distribution, earthing and lightning protection, fire and voice alarm systems, BMS as well as other related electrical utility systems as assigned

+ Regularly reviews and checks their own deliverables for accuracy, efficiency and thoroughness

+ Prepares load schedules and equipment schedules

+ Proactively liaising with Statutory Authorities and develop knowledge of codes, regulations and submission requirements

+ Communicates with clarity, purpose and accuracy

+ Attend client meetings

+ Confidently present work to colleagues

+ Contribute to providing technical support to site supervision teams and resolving design related issues on site

+ Participate in developing responses to review comments, tender queries, contractors queries, etc.

+ Contribute to the preparation and compilation of design presentations and design reports

+ Keeps abreast of the latest software/ techniques to increase productivity

*Minimum Requirements**
*Ability to fulfill all the above duties and responsibilities and show the following attributes:**
+ Developing engineering design skills and understanding of the design process and interfaces between design disciplines

+ Capable of assisting a Senior colleague in the preparation of specific specification sections

+ Able to review shop drawings and materials submittals to ensure drawings and materials match AECOM specifications

+ Flexibility of attitude towards company objectives

+ Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit, and working on projects in a BIM environment

+ Ability and will to guide and provide support to junior staff members

+ Ability and motivated to update skills and expertise through continuing professional development (CPD) initiatives

+ Excellent command of English (written and spoken). Knowledge of other languages is an added value.

+ Experience of technical software such as Amtech ProDesign, Dialux required

*Preferred Qualifications**
+ BEng or BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

+ Working towards international accreditations (IET, CIBSE, or equivalent)
