Main responsibility is to have the competence to carry out maintenance duties offshore as directed by the Crane Supervisor. Competence must cover all maintenance involved with pedestal cranes, overhead cranes, lifeboat & liferaft davits and screen winches.
•Responsible for effectively carrying out tasks detailed on ADMA job cards as per Maximo Procedures which include but not limited to, bi weekly, monthly, 6 monthly and annual PM’s.
•To carryout maintenance duties offshore as directed by the Crane Supervisor.
•Responsible for effectively carrying out scheduled and un-scheduled planned maintenance routines of all offshore pedestal cranes, overhead gantry cranes, monorail hoists, liferaft davits, winches and fixed lifting equipment as specifically listed within contract equipment inventory with the objective of maintaining safe operations, compliance, maintaining integrity, reliability and reducing downtime and costs
•Performance of site repair work (as deemed practical and within the competency) on all pedestal cranes, gantry cranes, monorail hoists, Liferaft davits and winches arising from Planned Maintenance Inspections and Crane Operator Maintainer comments.
•Maintenance personnel on Al-Hyleh Barge shall have received suitable training to carryout re-termination of the anchor & towing bridle retrieval winch wires & when required (Resin lock sockets).
•In addition to crane maintenance duties, operate overhead cranes under the direction of nominated site personnel and in accordance with authorised operator’s instructions manual and site operating procedures.
•When working overhead cranes, carry out daily routine on the crane in accordance with maintenance procedures and pre-start checklist.
•Inspect the job site to ensure compliance with safe practices and procedures. Maintain quality of safety in the crane group and participate in the site safety reviews i.e. Near Miss Reporting/STOP.
•Responsible for giving a detailed report of any crane incidents to the Crane Supervisor.
•Responsible for carrying out speciality repairs / calibration work such as, but not limited to, installation of new additional crane equipment, slew bearing change outs, troubleshooting and repair of electronic SLI system and complex hydraulic systems.
•Liaise daily with Crane Supervisor to advise him of status of on-going work, highlighting any possible problems/concerns.
•Prepare daily reports detailing the work carried out, preparation of spare parts lists, details of parts to be repaired and compilation of delivery notes.
•Submit reports on all activities, surveys, inspections certification, maintenance etc. at a frequency to be set by the Company.
•Repairs and replacement of hoist and structural components.
•Establish and maintain effective communication with facility representatives to ensure an efficient service is provided on an on-going basis.
•The incumbent is responsible for giving a detailed report of any mechanical handling & lifting incidents to the Workshop Foreman / Crane Supervisor, within 24 hours of the event.
•Participate in risk assessment processes to ensure that all lifting activities are thoroughly reviewed and risks controlled prior to implementation.
•Inspect the job site to ensure compliance with Safe Practices and Procedures. Maintain quality of safety in the crane team and participate in facility safety reviews. i.e. Near Miss Reports, STOP cards.
•The incumbent must adopt a co-operative attitude towards being assigned alternative or additional duties to that which they are primarily employed which may include working additional hours (overtime).
