The primary responsibility is to operate platform pedestal and overhead cranes under the direction of nominated platform personnel and in accordance with the authorised operators instructions manual and platform operating procedures. • Preparation of crane prior to commencing lifting operations, implementation of crane daily checks and inspections as per checklist and report any defects. • Carry out routine first line crane maintenance duties including greasing, lubrication, oil changes, filter changes and other crane machinery lubrication duties in accordance with the maintenance routines, manufacturers manuals and service charts. • Demonstrate an understanding of Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations. • Understanding of lifting plans. • Awareness of conflicting activities which could affect the operation. • Demonstrate a full understanding of crane Rated Capacity Indicators and other safety devices and their working parameters. • Operate cranes(s) safely and effectively to lift, transfer and position loads to all designated areas in compliance with Sparrows Integrated Safe Operating Procedures SI 01 • Liaise on company/personal matters with Sparrows Crane Supervisor. • The incumbent is responsible for giving a detailed report of any crane incidents to the Sparrows Crane Supervisor. • The incumbent must adopt a co-operative attitude towards being assigned alternative or additional duties to that which they are primarily employed which may include working additional hours (overtime). • Implementation of routine first line crane maintenance duties. • Undertake housekeeping duties on the crane and around the installation. • Operate lifting equipment safely to meet asset work requirements within sphere of competence. |
