الوصف الوظيفي
The Leader Writer is charged with outlining the position of the brand as a whole, rather than that of an individual, on a particular development or issue. Leaders are unsigned pieces that appear on the comment pages.
المهارات
1. Discusses with Comment Editor and members of the editorial board the themes for leaders. Researches and writes leaders for print version and as demanded by digital workflows.
2. Must be meticulous in the use of house style and demonstrate concise and accurate writing. Must be able to familiarize h/herself with sometimes complex themes and be able to present readers with measured, contextualized analysis.
3. Must be engaged in current affairs and demonstrate knowledge across a range of social, political and economic areas locally, regionally and internationally.
4. Conducts research and is familiar with research tools that allow the writer to appear an “instant expert” on sometimes unfamiliar themes.
5. Must be capable of writing opinion articles and columns under own name across all platforms. Must be able to suggest personalities to deliver comment articles and to a lesser extent assist the Comment Editor or his/her Deputy in commissioning and chasing up copy and with editing copy where required.
6. Upholds and respects the social, cultural and moral standards of life in the UAE as well as the political and strategic national direction. Avoid circumstances in which the brand could be brought into disrepute and respect the custodianship of IMI and its constituents.
