Senior Welding Engineer

Job Description and Requirements
* Verify strict conformance to codes, ASME B&PV;Sec. II, III, IV, VIII, IX, and XI, AWS D1.1, AWS D1.6, ASME B31.1, and ASME B31.3 or KEPIC equivalent to ensure regulatory compliance.
* Monitor applicable regulatory requirements and communicate openly with Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) to promote effective understanding of requirements.
* Track and create welding procedure specifications (WPS) and product qualification records (PQR) to comply with ASME B&PV;Code Sec. III, and IX to ensure compliance with industrial best practices.
* Conduct the test, qualification, and training of welders in Flux Core-Arc Welding (FCAW), Gas Metal-Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten-Arc Welding (GTAW), Shielded Metal-Arc Welding (SMAW) and Brazing according to AWS D1.1 and ASME Sec. IX to ensure a qualified workforce.
* Keep welding performance qualifications (WPQ’s) in accordance with AWS D1.1 and ASME Sec. IX to ensure compliance.
* Review weld data sheets and weld maps for each work order, assuring correct WPS, code, and standards are adhered to for each job to ensure effective and high-quality maintenance.
* Provide welding expertise and resolution for welding and code related problems, collaborating with Design Engineers, Procurement, Q/C, and Licensing departments to facilitate problem solving.
* Identify site welding program monetary needs, obtain cost estimates, create proposal, and present to site management for consideration to ensure operational readiness of welding program.
* Coordinate with non-destructive examination (NDE) technicians to review test data to identify ways to correct issues and reduce production defects.
* Ensure compliance to the Conduct of Maintenance standards and expectations to ensure quality work performance
* Review and prepare revised welding procedures to ensure compliance with latest codes and standards, and developing new procedures as required.
