Quest Search & Selection is working with a Fashionable Casual Restaurant that are seeking a very unique Head Pastry Chef to lead the Pastry/Patisserie/Bakery kitchen for the restaurants operations and oversee quality and consistency in all Food outlets and in production.
This role based in a busy part of Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Job Description
As the Head Pastry Chef, your responsibilities include:
• Monitoring the performance of the kitchen staff ensuring they comply with company procedures (5-7 staff);
• Ensure the efficient and smooth running of the pastry team/section.
• Promote and maintain good working relationships throughout the team and carry out, monitor records.
• Ensure sanitation and hygiene of kitchen area are being maintained by staff
• Manage and monitor the consistency and quality of all food produced
• High level of attention detail
• Ensures proper levels of bakery and pastry items are prepared based on forecasted needs and their prompt delivery to the designated outlet for guest consumption.
• Control of food cost and wastage.
• Highly experienced with extremely good organizational and people focused skills.
• Manage ordering of stock
• Experience in either of an independent operation or in a 4*hotel
• Maintain positive relationship with suppliers
• Schedule daily rosters in line with allocated budgets
• Support the cost controllers with daily, weekly and monthly inventories
• Creative flair and presence

Requirements for an Ideal Candidate (Head Pastry Chef):
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
• Swift and efficient management style
• Be able to work long hours maintaining a positive attitude
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
• Proven quality and experience with an extremely high standard and consistency
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
• Highly responsible and reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in catering 3D cakes
• Skilled with all areas of pastry and ideally French Trained background
• Culinary certifications are to be expected
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as Sous Chef in Europe
