Asset Description:
Shuweihat S2 IWPP, a Greenfield development project will produce 1507 MW of power and 100 MIGD of water. The Plant includes two power and desalination blocks, each comprising two gas turbines, one steam turbine and three Multi-stage Flash distiller units. The gas turbines are the latest Siemens SGT5000F (94.3A(6)) gas turbines, complete with Siemens steam turbines and generators. The HRSGs are provided by Samsung and the MSF distiller units by Doosan. The first block of power and water capacity is expected to enter commercial operation at the beginning of May 2011, with the facility commercial operation expected in September 2011.
The plant is owned by Ruwais Power Company (RPC) in which ADWEA has 60% equity and the remaining 40% equally shared between GDF Suez and Marubeni.
The plant will be operated and maintained by S2 Operation and Maintenance Company, which is jointly owned (50:50) by Marubeni and GDF Suez. The advertised position is for the S2 O&M;Company.
Job Purpose:
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the Lead Instrumentation and Control (I&C;) Engineer will be accountable to lead a team of engineers and technicians to fulfil the day to day I&C;maintenance activities at the power and desalination plant. Additionally, the Lead I&C;Engineer is responsible to support the management of the major outages of the plant, ensuring that the plant meets availability, reliability, efficiency, generation and cost targets, safely and within strict environmental limits.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Supporting the management of the long term (Siemens) gas turbine service contract with respect to planned and unplanned outage services of gas turbines
2. Development of routine plant maintenance through the use of CMMS.
3. Successful preparations and completion of planned shutdowns conducted by Siemens
4. Implementation of electrical and I&C;engineering practices in accordance with OEM and international standards
5. Support the development and implementation of a Long Term engineering strategic plan
6. Life cycle management for all I&C;systems
7. Completing the planned shutdowns within time and budget
8. Safe and efficient delivery of high levels of commercial availability within environment limits
9. Make decisions, or assist others to make decisions, to resolve plant maintenance problems with immediate, medium and long term consequences
10. Lead and motivate the team by setting appropriate people and plant related performance measures
11. Deliver outcomes, in all areas of work, consistent with the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies

Education:
1. An accredited degree in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering.
2. Demonstrated competence at engineering level with adequate education and training supported.
Experience:
1. Leading and Managing People skills with at least 5 years of total operation experience with progressive experience as auxiliary, boiler, turbine and control room operator.
2. Experience preferred in CCGT, Gas Turbines Desalination plant and a wide range of auxiliary equipment.

Medical Status:
The post holder shall be medically able to undertake the duties of the post and any duties they may have to undertake as part of their role in the Power Station emergency plan.
