Lab Technologist -Cytogenetic

Job Purpose:
Provides information for diagnosis of disease by conducting medical laboratory tests, procedures, experiments, and analyses

Critical Duties:
• Receiving slides from slide making team.
• Organizing work by matching computer orders with slides labeling; sorting slides; checking labeling; counting slides; keeping work surfaces clean and orderly.
• Putting slides in oven at 75 degree for one hour
• Putting slides in buffer at 56 degree for 10 minutes.
• Cover slide by stain for 12 minutes.
• Organizing slides by day in box.
Qualifications/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Science
• 0-1 years of relevant experience
Skills/Knowledge:
• Arabic: Fluent
• English: Excellent
• Attention to detail
• Technical Skill: Lab techs need to understand complex lab machinery and computer programs used to conduct tests
Physical Effort & Environment:
• Dexterity: Lab techs work with their hands and will need dexterity to work with small vials, test tubes, and delicate lab equipment
• May require to be in a prolonged seated position
• Stamina: Lab technicians work long days on their feet, sometimes hunched over a workstation for long periods of time.
