GIS Specialist will perform the following tasks:
• Create maps and graphs, using GIS software and related equipment.
• Gather, analyze, and integrate spatial data from many sources.
• Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
• Analyze geographic relationships among varying types of data.
• Prepare metadata and other documentation.
• Manipulating large raster data sets through cloud computing
• Preparing map services for map-based websites.
• Prepare professional maps for online applications and print publications, using advanced cartographic skills
• Using satellite imagery to validate agriculture change data, develop roads datasets; acquiring, pre-processing and analyzing satellite imagery
